The Emperor’s New Clothes

Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 7:10 | In russia | 2 Comments

Helsingin Sanomat quotes the Finnish president Tarja Halonen as saying that the situation in Russia is alarming if the administration knows nothing about the recent murders. But, the president points out, it is even more alarming if they do know about the events.

I understand that many leaders in Europe are shocked about what they have recently learned about Russia because they bought the Russian bluff about aiming at justice and democracy. They can no longer ignore that the emperor has no clothes. As I have never believed Russia to be anything other than the dictatorship it has always been, I am much less concerned than president Halonen.

    Basta.

  2. If that man is a democrat then I am the Emperor of Europe.
