According to Dutchblog, all 15 “coffee shops” in the town of Maastricht in the Netherlands are going to be covered by a biometric pass this summer. We are not talking about having a cup of coffee here but joints were you could drop in to have a joint. The customer pass is based on face scanning and finger print.
A new customer is required to show up a legal ID and their finger print is scanned and stored in a computer. At their next visit they just place their finger in the scanner. The system is supposed to keep customers under 18 out of the shops and conrol that nobody is served more than the legally allowed daily dose of five grams of cannabis.
