Political maintenance

The Other Russia adds Vladimir Bukovsky to the oppositional presidential candidates facing unexpected obstacles with trying to file their bid to run for president. Just as happened with former chess World champion Garry Kasparov, Mr. Bukovsky received a last minute notice that the venue where he intended to formally gather the 500 citizens needed to legally form an initiative group is closed for maintenance. The “maintenance” is obviously politically motivated and initiated by FSB (former KGB).

As The Other Russia points out, Dmitri Medvedev would have no problem to get elected with endorsement of Vladimir Putin. Which brings up the question: why on Earth are they doing this rather than even trying to pretend that the so called presidential election would be a democratic process?
