US Air Force have launched a recruiting campaign with the slogan “Above All”. My favorite part of the Air Force Link story about the campaign is this:
“Above All is about what we do and how we do it,” Colonel Caldwell said. “The job of the Air Force is to defend America and we do that by dominating air, space and cyberspace.”
On that very point, I wonder if the cyberspace can be dominated at all. Just take a look at the comments added to this post about the same topic. You will find a lot of people supposedly “discussing” with each other but in fact missing and misunderstanding each other’s points and mutually talking above and beyond each other.
My point is this: considering that the so called cyberspace consists of an infinite and endlessly increasing number of similar threads, how can one possibly dominate a cyberspace like that?
